Come to Pentecost

Smith Wigglesworth says, “There are two kinds of faith. There is the natural faith. But the supernatural faith is the gift of God.” One day in Lancashire, and going round to see some sick people, he was taken into a house where there was a young woman lying on a bed, a very helpless case. He recalls: “Then with all my faith I began to penetrate the heavens, and I was soon out of that house, I will tell you, for I never saw a man get anything from God who prayed on the earth. If you get anything from God, you will have to pray into heaven; for it is all there. If you are living in the earth realm and expect things from heaven, they will never come. And as I saw, in the presence of God, the limitations of my faith, there came another faith, a faith that could not be denied, a faith that took the promise, a faith that believed God's Word. And from that presence, I came back again to earth, but not the same man. God gave a faith that could shake hell and anything else. “I said, C...

Kingdom Power

1Co 4:20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power. The Kingdom of God is not about talk, it is about power. And when we speak about power, it is something tangible. It is not imaginary. Talk is imaginary. But the Kingdom of God is about power. That is why the Apostle Paul says, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. This means that whatever we have learned from the Bible should translate to something practical, something tangible, something that we can do, something that we can put to action. And that's what power is, it is a driving force for action. Like the power of a car that comes from the gasoline that burns in its engine. That's where the car derives its power. Christ is our power! He gives us strength to do all things. And so if it has been a long time already since we became Christians and we are still sickly, we are still in poverty, and we are still experiencing a lot of problems, and we are almost always depressed because ...

Faith of God

Below is taken from Life BS Group, a discussion group in Facebook: "Brothers and sisters in Christ, can you help me understand this verse: Rom 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? 'Faith of God' is also mentioned in Titus 1:1. In NIV version, it reads 'God's faithfulness.' Does this verse mean that even unbelievers are still saved?" "This was from Andrew Wommacks commentary: Paul was using the phrase 'the faith of God' in this verse interchangeably with the phrase 'the oracles of God' in Rom 3:2. He was saying that the unbelief of the Jews did not make the Word of God, or the promises of God, without effect. Therefore, the Word of God is the faith of God. No wonder faith comes by hearing God's Word: God's Word contains His faith. Paul was asking the question, "If some of the Jews did not believe God's Word, does that make God's Word of no effect?...

Priorities

Jas 1:9-11 Let the brother of low degree rejoice in that he is exalted: But the rich, in that he is made low: because as the flower of the grass he shall pass away. For the sun is no sooner risen with a burning heat, but it withereth the grass, and the flower thereof falleth, and the grace of the fashion of it perisheth: so also shall the rich man fade away in his ways. It was really a wonderful message that Pastor German delivered during the Easter Sunday joint fellowship. He said, "God did not bring us here in Qatar just so He can bless us. The blessing of God is not dependent on location. He can bless us in the City and He can bless us in the Field. God has brought us here for a purpose." This message I believe has a special touch to them who, like me, got born again when they got here. A testimony that is most common here in the Middle East. And if one should reflect on that, it is easy to see that God has something in mind that is why He brought us here. That passage...

Ask In Faith

Jas 1:5-8 (5) If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. (6) But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. (7) For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. (8) A double minded man is unstable in all his ways. God is a giver. That is His nature. God is willing to give more than we are wanting to have. Verse 5 in the NIV reads: "If any of you lacks wisdom, you should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to you." God does not find fault. He will not examine whether there is something wrong with you. He will not count it against you even if you blew it. He just wants to give. Only that we ask in faith. Not doubting. Because if we ask full of faith, the excercise of that wisdom will also be full of faith. The excercise of that wisdo...

How do you know?

I asked: How do you know that when you die you will be with Jesus? Somebody said: 1Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God. And WHAT are these who believe... 1Jn 5:1 Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God... And what shall become of those who believe... Joh 6:40 And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day. I said: Yes, sure the Bible tells us that, and our Pastors tell us that. But how are you so sure that indeed you have eternal life? And again he says: Rom 8:30 Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also GLORIFIED. This is the glorious future of those whom the Father foreknew. Again I s...

From Faith to Faith

Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith. There are 2 kinds of faith, one is Abraham's kind of faith: Rom 4:22-24 And therefore it was imputed to him for righteousness. (23) Now it was not written for his sake alone, that it was imputed to him; (24) But for us also, to whom it shall be imputed, if we believe on him that raised up Jesus our Lord from the dead; And the other one is faith which is the gift of God: Rom 12:3 For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. The first one is necessary for imputation of righteousness and the second one is necessary for power that overcomes the world! For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith!

Faith Must Produce Results

Faith must have results for the word of God are not merely words, they are spirit and they are life. Christians ought to be results oriented not only in their worldly chores but more importantly with regard to their faith. Faith without results is dead. Yea. I truly believe that. I just cannot accept that a Christian can die of Cancer. That is not just compatible with the Gospel. I refuse to accept it, it is not from God. A Christian cannot be sick for Christ lives in him and Christ cannot be sick. But why do Christians get sick? There must be something that we do not know that's why we still fall to sickness. The Lord said, "The spirit is willing but the body is weak." But why is the body weak? And if it is weak, can we strengthen it? I believe it is only through the word of God that we can answer these questions. And so we must constantly, diligently search the Scriptures. One thing I am certain of, the body is weak because we have fallen far away from God. God is...

No More Medicine Man

It was fun how this revelation came to me. Most of the people in our Church know that when I get sick, I don't take medicine. Just water, rest and declaration of the word of God. It's not that I have anything against medicine, it's just where my faith is. And all through those few times that I got sick, I did recover. And my recovery was even much faster than when I used to take meds. And by the way, as far as I can remember, I never had been sick since Gab was born, which means that is about 2 years already. Gab's turning 2 in April. Normally, I would get really sick at least once in a year. And so I was meditating whether it is really right not to take medicine? Medicine does help. But which is better, not taking medicine or taking medicine? I was asking myself, if Jesus came to give us life and He came already and He is now back to where He was from, then His purpose for coming here was already accomplished, for He cannot fail. (I got into this line of thinking f...

Pastor Chris Lectures

"Guard your heart with all diligence (Proverbs 43:23). Be careful what you listen to. When you stop listening to the voice of God, you start making the wrong decisions (Romans 8:14). Don’t expose yourself to just any kind of information. The information you allow in, will determine the state of your heart. Remember, your life will only reveal the information you have on the inside. Let your spirit always remain under the influence of the Word of God". "The Word of God is the answer to all of man’s challenges and life’s crises. It encompasses all the things that you will ever need in your life. It is the only prerequisite for a successful and victorious life. Pay attention to God’s Word, to do what it says and to enjoy all the benefits that have been made available to you in it". "Choose your words carefully; speak faith and not fear. Don’t say a thing just because that is how the situation seems or what everyone else is saying. Stand firm on God’s Word until ...

Imagine Acts 1:9-11

And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, and said, "Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven." ESV (Act 1:9-11) The story is all too familiar to most people, and to them it remains to be just a story. But these things really took place. It’s not a recent event. But an event 1 hour ago is no different from an event 2 hours ago or even 2000 years ago. They all took place during the course of time. Imagine that these things took place just yesterday. And you were there. Jesus rose from the dead and then He ascended up in the clouds, and then there are these two guys who tell you, Jesus is coming back in the same manner that you saw Him go up. Get a hold of the reality of that event. ...

A faith that would make you jump off a building

One Pastor said, don't throw away your common sense. I say, indeed it is a faculty that God has given to man and we should put it to good use. God has given us sound mind and so no Christian would jump off a building thinking that the angels of God would catch him. But born again Christians are branded as being crazy about Jesus and true enough we are. We have come to a relationship with God that our faith has become alien to the world. We believe it when the bible says with God, all things are possible. Does that include jumping off the building? Technically yes! Jesus walked on water and he ascended to heaven defying all the laws of gravity. Phillip was taken by the Spirit and was found in another city. Moses parted the red sea, Elijah called fire to fall from the sky. Kuya Vic suffered a car crash, lost his kidneys to alcohol and yet he is still alive only to find that the Lord had planned for him in the ministry. And just take a look at the ministry of Pastor Chris!   Unless ...

Why Faith?

Why faith? What is there that we need to know about faith? Why is it that without faith it is impossible to please God? Why did the Lord say, according to your faith be it done unto you? And a lot of times did He say, rise and go your way, your faith has made you well. What is faith? One thing is settled in my heart. It’s not really something so out of this world or something so mind blowing. The Bible does not refer to a special thing or meaning when it talks about faith, or some great mystery hidden behind it. It is as plain and simple as described in the common dictionary. Faith is but the strong belief or conviction in one’s heart. What ever you believe in, that is where your faith is. So when God talks about faith, He means a strong conviction in one’s heart, not doubting, but a firm unwavering conviction that His Word is a settled truth, not subject to debate or argument or whatever. It is settled. Walking by faith and not by sight simply means that we don’t change what we be...

Abundance and Need

Material resource is important because it is the mechanism that allows us to accomplish things. And so if we don’t have money we cannot move. If the ministry didn’t have the money, it cannot move. We wouldn’t even be here if we didn’t have the money to spend for the transport. In fact we are working abroad because the money here is better than back home. And so money is important. However, we should not be too concerned about money that it becomes a struggle already. Struggle with money is a trap by the Devil. And you will know when the Devil has caught you because everything will become heavy for you. And that’s where Satan wants you, he wants you burdened with all the troubles, with all the cares of this world. And getting out of that does not require that you get more money. Because you will get trapped in that situation again the very next time money runs out. And people tend to fight it by saving in the bank. That will not work. Why? Because trouble is gonna come. ...

It is by grace through faith, not of works..

The Apostle Paul has constantly and strongly advocated this to the Jews because the Jews found it hard to get out of that mentality in the Law that unless they perform according to the law, there will be no blessing. And religion has taught us that too. Religion has taught us that we have to work for our own salvation. That we have to earn it by good works.  And so for many Christians it is hard to get out of that mentality also! On one hand Christians believe that they are not going to hell because they receive the salvation of the sacrifice of Christ. But on the other hand, they work their butt off to earn a living, and are most cautious not to misappropriate even the smallest portion of their hard earned pay! I find that ironic.  We receive salvation by faith but the prosperous life that comes with it, we want to earn by the works of our hand. We subscribe to financial management more than to God's promises. But how far can you get with financial management? Say you have...
