Faith of God

Below is taken from Life BS Group, a discussion group in Facebook:

"Brothers and sisters in Christ, can you help me understand this verse: Rom 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? 'Faith of God' is also mentioned in Titus 1:1. In NIV version, it reads 'God's faithfulness.' Does this verse mean that even unbelievers are still saved?"

"This was from Andrew Wommacks commentary: Paul was using the phrase 'the faith of God' in this verse interchangeably with the phrase 'the oracles of God' in Rom 3:2. He was saying that the unbelief of the Jews did not make the Word of God, or the promises of God, without effect. Therefore, the Word of God is the faith of God. No wonder faith comes by hearing God's Word: God's Word contains His faith.

Paul was asking the question, "If some of the Jews did not believe God's Word, does that make God's Word of no effect?" The answer to this question is a resounding "no" (Ro 3:4). However, Mr 7:13 says we make the Word of God of none effect through our traditions. What's the harmony between these two verses?

People can make God's Word of no effect in their personal lives. Heb 4:2 says God's Word will not profit people unless they mix it with faith. So the Word will not profit anyone who doesn't believe it, but God's Word itself doesn't lose any power. That is what Paul was stating here. The unbelief of the Jewish nation as a whole did not void the promises of God concerning salvation through a savior. The promises of salvation were of no effect to the individuals who rejected Jesus, but to those who will put their faith in Jesus as Messiah, the Word of God still has its power to save."

"Romans 3:3 is basically just talking about the faithfulness of God to His words, the integrity of it that what he has spoken He will also do. Down to verse 4 Paul quotes Psalm 51: 'That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings...' meaning that God remains true to His word and His judgments are true and righteous. For what if some did not believe, shall their unbelief render the faith of God, His faithfulness, His truthfulness, His trust worthiness, without effect? No. But does that mean He will disregard the unbelief? No. But God will fulfill His words to them that believe, and judgment to those that don't believe according to His own sayings. Tit 1:1 is rather a separate subject because it talks about the faith of God's elect. Paul was called for the faith of God's elect. That was Paul's purpose, his objective.. the faith of God's elect."

"Thank you brothers....When I read it, I've been thinking.. Does God need faith? To whom is it addressed? : ) Then I also found this verse, Phil 3:9 'And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which isthrough the FAITH OF CHRIST, the righteousness which is of God by faith.' Here faith of Christ is mentioned, but was clearly explained: the righteousness which is of God by faith. Faith of God, faith of Christ, are they the same? Can I say that faith of God is also the righteousness that we receive when we have faith in God?"

"The Bible also tells us that faith is a gift of the Holy Ghost and so in this sense we can say God has faith, not that He needs it but I believe it is one of His inherent qualities. Nothing is impossible for Him. He calleth those things which be not as though they were. And so there is really what is called the faith of God. And when applied towards believers it is the God kind of faith, a kind of faith that does not doubt, it is pure and therefore it is very powerful that even as small as a mustard seed of this kind of faith can move mountains."

The faith of Christ is akin to His obedience to the Father. And the Lord Jesus knows that whatever He asks of the Father the Father gives, and He tells us to do the same, He says, ask in my name.."

"Thanks bro...: )"

"Philippians 3:9 (King James Version) And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith:

Right standing before a holy God is not to be achieved in the keeping of the law but in humble trust in the person and work of Jesus Christ. No one can have the benefit of Christ's righteousness who is trusting in his own righteousness. The righteousness that gives men relationship with God is the RIGHTEOUSNESS OF GOD, and it comes freely through faith in Jesus Christ (Rom. 3:22).

Notice that Paul said he wanted the righteousness which comes through the faith OF Christ, not faith IN Christ. It is true that the way we obtained this righteousness is by putting faith IN what Christ has done for us. But when we place our faith in Christ, then the righteousness that Jesus obtained by His faith becomes ours. We are possessors of Christ's righteousness which His faith produced."

"Amen bro,Shokran katir : )"

"Afwan! God bless!"

Evolution

As I drive through the streets of Doha, a curious detail keeps drawing my gaze: the kaleidoscope of car side mirrors—even for something so functional, each one looks different—some round, some square, some with tiny LED lights, others with that classic chrome finish. They’re all mirrors, yet each bears its own unique style. I can almost imagine not knowing anything about how cars are made and thinking… “Car evolution?” Could these variations have evolved themselves? It’s a silly—and amusing—thought. Of course, car manufacturers deliberately design these parts with purpose. Engineers and designers craft each mirror to suit a certain need or aesthetic. And then it hit me: our lives are much like those designs. Just as each mirror varies in design and purpose, God shapes us uniquely. No two paths—or people—are identical, and He doesn’t mass-produce faith or life. We are each intentionally designed. So, if you’ve ever felt like you don’t quite fit the mold, remember—you're not a manufa...

A New Creation

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. A very simple yet so profound truth that we must not forget: we are new creations in Christ. We are not the person that we were before we came to know Christ. We are a new person, a new creature in Christ. This is very foundational and very, very important. Many Christians tend to dwell on the Cross. They stay there and never want to be removed from there because the Cross meant the forgiveness of sins. And that is true. But the very purpose of the Cross was not the forgiveness of sins, but rather, to condemn sin. A Christian is not a sinner saved by grace as some denominations teach. And that phrase, sinner saved by grace, is never really found in the Bible. A Christian is not a sinner. We were sinners before we became Christians, but when we became Christians, we put on the new man. Religion would tell you that you are not worthy, how that you are ...

The Operation of God

Col 2:12  Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. The word operation was translated from the Greek:   G1753 ἐνέργεια energeia en-erg'-i-ah From G1756; efficiency (“energy”): - operation, strong, (effectual) working. This gives us an idea of what goes on in the spirit realm when a person comes to Christ. The Scripture says, we are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God... the energy... the effectual working of God.  Here is what happens in the spirit realm, believers are risen from the dead by this energy - the effectual working of God. And it is made to pass through the faith of this energy. Now, this clearly tells us that this is not Man's faith, it is God's faith.  Notice the first part of this Scripture. It says, Buried with Him in baptism. This is where Man's faith is in operation. Baptism is the answer of a good conscience toward God. The a...
