The Operation of God

Col 2:12  Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead. The word operation was translated from the Greek:   G1753 ἐνέργεια energeia en-erg'-i-ah From G1756; efficiency (“energy”): - operation, strong, (effectual) working. This gives us an idea of what goes on in the spirit realm when a person comes to Christ. The Scripture says, we are risen with Him through the faith of the operation of God... the energy... the effectual working of God.  Here is what happens in the spirit realm, believers are risen from the dead by this energy - the effectual working of God. And it is made to pass through the faith of this energy. Now, this clearly tells us that this is not Man's faith, it is God's faith.  Notice the first part of this Scripture. It says, Buried with Him in baptism. This is where Man's faith is in operation. Baptism is the answer of a good conscience toward God. The a...

Spiritual Forces

Spirits are everywhere. Most people become afraid when you start talking about spirits. Well, to some degree they may have reason to be afraid because in reality, this physical world is governed and controlled by spiritual forces. The Bible says, God is spirit so if you believe in God, believe also that there is a spiritual environment in much the same manner that we have the physical environment. The Bible further says, “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.” The Bible tells us that God has angels. And some of these angels have rebelled and become the enemies of God. Satan himself was an angel that was cut off from God. The Lord said “I beheld Satan as lightning fall from heaven.” Satan and his angels are the rulers of the darkness of this world. The principals, the powers, the perpetrators of all the wickedness in this world! How do they e...

Spirit, Soul and Body

We go back to what we learned in our Bible Studies. We are a three part being: spirit, soul and body (1The 5:23) . I like to think of it as faculties. The body is the faculty that we use to function in the physical realm. We move about and perform activities in this physical world with our body. Our mental faculty is included there because the mind is the ultimate destination of our physical senses.  The soul is the faculty of our person. The soul is the me, myself, and I. The soul is the faculty that expresses the state of that person whether he is angry, happy, downcast, excited, etc. When God breathed into Adam, he became a living soul (Gen 2:7) . He had his own person, separate and apart from the person of God. And that living soul has the capacity to multiply. God also has a soul (Lev 26:11, Isa 42:1) . The spirit is the faculty that we use to function in the spirit realm. The spirit is the faculty that discerns the things of God. The natural man, meaning the faculty of ...

Let Me Show You Something

(Heb 11:3)  Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. There was a time when man believed that the atoms are the building blocks of matter. And then they found out that they can still break up the atoms into subatomic particles. Now they found out that these sub-atomic particles may still be broken up as being made up of "strings." Look up the "String Theory" on the web. The image below was taken from Wikipedia - the free encyclopedia. : ) Levels of Magnification: 1. Macroscopic level - Matter 2. Molecular level 3. Atomic level -- Protons, neutrons, and electrons 4. Subatomic level -- Electron 5. Subatomic level - Quarks 6. String level As we increase the magnification further and further, we can believe that Science will never see the end of it. Why? Because the Bible says that the things which are seen were not made of things which do appe...

Know the things that are freely given to us of God

"Exploring I Corinthians 2 Part 3" Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man's wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned. But he that is spiritual judgeth all things, yet he himself is judged of no man. For who hath known the mind of the Lord, that he may instruct him? But we have the mind of Christ.  (1Co 2:12-16) If nobody told me about the Lord Jesus and what he's done for me, I would not know I had an inheritance in heaven. But even if somebody told me about it, I would not understand if I didn't have the Holy Ghost in me. And so a very important ministry that the Holy Spirit is ...

Exploring I Corinthians 2 Part 2

1Co 2:6-8   Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought:  (7)   But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory:  (8)   Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. Wisdom as Man knows it is acquired through knowledge and experience. But there is a higher kind of wisdom which is the hidden wisdom of God. And this wisdom is ordained unto us so that by it we may glory! As Pastor Chris taught us, wisdom is not a faculty of the human brain. It is not a product of rational thinking. Wisdom is an attribute of the Spirit: why you buy the things that you buy, why you eat the food that you eat, why you go to places you go to… These are all materialization of man’s wisdom. In other parts of the Scripture it says: The entrance of...

Comparing spiritual things with spiritual

And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or of wisdom, declaring unto you the testimony of God. For I determined not to know anything among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. And I was with you in weakness, and in fear, and in much trembling. And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man's wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power: That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect: yet not the wisdom of this world, nor of the princes of this world, that come to nought: But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory: Which none of the princes of this world knew: for had they known it, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory. But as it is written, Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God ...

The Great Chasm

There is a great chasm that divides the physical realm and the spiritual realm. God is spirit. So there must be some kind of a spiritual environment just as we have the physical environment. God says heaven is his throne, so heaven must really be awesome because that is where God dwells. We get a glimpse in the book of revelations because it says there that the streets there are paved with gold. But apparently, there is a great chasm that divides heaven and earth because it is impossible for us to cross to the other side. Not until we die. And surprisingly, the guys in the heavenlies can cross over. Angels can manifest themselves. Unclean spirits can manifest themselves. God can manifest himself. And what is more is that God has blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. So how do we get those blessings since our physical bodies seems to be incapable of crossing into the heavenly places? It just occurred to me... that all wonderful saying of the Lor...

Victory belongs to you.

For it is written, the weapons of our warfare are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds. Rise up! And take the challenge of your time, and walk in the victory of your Lord. For the victory belongs to you and it was wrought long ago, but it belongs to you. Walk this world with a shout of a king in your midst, sayeth the Lord. For thou art mine and the world belongs to you. So sayeth the Spirit of God unto you. (Excerpt from Priesthood and Sacrifice – Pastor Chris)
