Come to Pentecost

Smith Wigglesworth says, “There are two kinds of faith. There is the natural faith. But the supernatural faith is the gift of God.” One day in Lancashire, and going round to see some sick people, he was taken into a house where there was a young woman lying on a bed, a very helpless case. He recalls: “Then with all my faith I began to penetrate the heavens, and I was soon out of that house, I will tell you, for I never saw a man get anything from God who prayed on the earth. If you get anything from God, you will have to pray into heaven; for it is all there. If you are living in the earth realm and expect things from heaven, they will never come. And as I saw, in the presence of God, the limitations of my faith, there came another faith, a faith that could not be denied, a faith that took the promise, a faith that believed God's Word. And from that presence, I came back again to earth, but not the same man. God gave a faith that could shake hell and anything else. “I said, C...

Corinthians At Supper

1Co 11:20-22 "When you come together, it is not the Lord's supper that you eat. For in eating, each one goes ahead with his own meal. One goes hungry, another gets drunk. What! Do you not have houses to eat and drink in? Or do you despise the church of God and humiliate those who have nothing? What shall I say to you? Shall I commend you in this? No, I will not." The Corinthians must have celebrated the Lord ’s Supper the Filipino ‘bring your own baon’ style. And it appears that the Filipino ‘barkadahan’ style is also practiced by them. The Corinthian church must have been divided in factions, each to his own group. And naturally, those that are of the same socio-economic status would group together. So during meal time, them that have brought food and drinks would be full and even drunk, while others who may not be well off economically even to bring their own food go hungry. Paul is telling them, this is not the way to eat the Lord ’s Supper. Indeed it was very detest...

Kingdom Power

1Co 4:20 For the kingdom of God does not consist in talk but in power. The Kingdom of God is not about talk, it is about power. And when we speak about power, it is something tangible. It is not imaginary. Talk is imaginary. But the Kingdom of God is about power. That is why the Apostle Paul says, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength. This means that whatever we have learned from the Bible should translate to something practical, something tangible, something that we can do, something that we can put to action. And that's what power is, it is a driving force for action. Like the power of a car that comes from the gasoline that burns in its engine. That's where the car derives its power. Christ is our power! He gives us strength to do all things. And so if it has been a long time already since we became Christians and we are still sickly, we are still in poverty, and we are still experiencing a lot of problems, and we are almost always depressed because ...

Apostles & Prophets

Was Apollos an Apostle? In the strictest sense, he is not. But did he do the works of an Apostle? I believe he did. What about in our generation, are there people still doing the works of an Apostle? I believe there are. What about Prophets? Well, the Bible clearly says; in the last days your sons and daughters will prophesy. Probably not in the likes of Elijah or Elisha but these are the last day Prophets. There are diversities of gifts but it is only one Spirit that empowers them. The Holy Spirit that was at work in the Apostles and Prophets in Biblical times is the same Holy Spirit that is at work in Christians today. The Bible tells us that these signs shall follow them that believe; and from the time of Christ to our present generation, believers continue to grow in ever increasing numbers. It should follow that these signs also increase in manifestations. But there are some who profess that these signs passed away together with the passing of the Prophets and the Apostles. ...

Stewards of Grace

I was listening to 1Peter today and I came across this Scripture: 1Pe 4:10 KJV As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God. This again puts into light the Doctrine of Irresistible Grace. I've once posted on Life BS Group that there is no such thing as irresistible grace, citing: Eph 3:2 KJV If ye have heard of the dispensation of the grace of God which is given me to you-ward: We know from Scripture, that the Lord does not force Himself to people. When people didn't want Him to enter their city, He peacefully went away. By dispensation it means, administration or stewardship. And Paul is saying that the dispensation of the grace of God was given to him for his ministry towards the Gentiles. And 1Pe 4:10 confirms that every believer is a steward of the manifold grace of God. And we are to minister the grace that we have received one to another. I believe this is a principle that God has ...

Faith of God

Below is taken from Life BS Group, a discussion group in Facebook: "Brothers and sisters in Christ, can you help me understand this verse: Rom 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect? 'Faith of God' is also mentioned in Titus 1:1. In NIV version, it reads 'God's faithfulness.' Does this verse mean that even unbelievers are still saved?" "This was from Andrew Wommacks commentary: Paul was using the phrase 'the faith of God' in this verse interchangeably with the phrase 'the oracles of God' in Rom 3:2. He was saying that the unbelief of the Jews did not make the Word of God, or the promises of God, without effect. Therefore, the Word of God is the faith of God. No wonder faith comes by hearing God's Word: God's Word contains His faith. Paul was asking the question, "If some of the Jews did not believe God's Word, does that make God's Word of no effect?...

Death Reigned

There was a question: Is all the destruction in world the will of God? This is quite an interesting topic. And if you would remember what the LORD said to satan in: Job 2:6  And the LORD said unto Satan, Behold, he is in thine hand; but save his life. By this it appears that if a man dies, it means that God has permitted it. And I agree that death is a judgment of God. But look here: Rom 5:14  Nevertheless death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned after the similitude of Adam's transgression, who is the figure of him that was to come. If you remember, the Bible says that death came into the world by the transgression of Adam. But why did death reign only up to Moses? Because death ceased to reign (at least in the house of Israel) when the Covenant of the Law was given to Moses. Because the law, through the sacrifices provided shelter for them against the consequences of sin. Remember the passover lamb. Remember the blood on the door posts o...
