God Is

And I was with you in weakness and in fear and much trembling, and my speech and my message were not in plausible words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith might not rest in the wisdom of men but in the power of God. (1Co 2:3-5)

There is so much theology going around in these last days. Maybe you can find thousands or maybe hundreds of thousands of different, sometimes clashing schools of thought even within the Christian faith. But the truth is not in any of them. Most people believe that because they have a Ph.D in theology, they already know the truth, and they have assumed office as authorities in the faith toward God.

The believer in Christ must be well able to discern which one is of God and which one is not. If you are confident in your faith because it is backed up by volumes and volumes of technical writings, then that faith is not founded on Christ. Maybe you've come to believe in the Lord Jesus Christ, but belief and faith are not one and the same.

The Apostles ministry were always filled with demonstrations of the Spirit and of the power of God so that the people may see that the God they preached is real, He is tangible, He is not just a topic to be discussed or be argued about. But God is real! And so the Christian faith is not at all about Philosophy, or Theology or an idea that goes on inside our heads. The Christian faith is about a firm knowledge of who God really is, that He is Almighty, all powerful!

The knowledge of God is not something we can learn in the classroom, but is something that must be experienced. Them that seek God must believe that He is (Heb 11:6)! And so when the Bible says, "by His stripes we were healed.." we should not only say "Amen!" because we believe and agree to it to be true, but we should see it come to pass; not for a sign or a proof of God but because that is how it's suppose to be. And that is what God does; God casts out sickness from among His people!

Faith does not come by the rational understanding of the Scriptures but by a personal experience of the Word of God. Not the experience of miracles in the physical realm but an experience in the spirit. And that personal experience makes the Christian a true witness of the Gospel because he not only believes it but has actually experienced it. Howbeit, the miracles help us believe.

I am bent on testing the spirit of every minister who doesn't have even at least one demonstration of the healing power of God. It is easy to deliver an impact-full preaching, but I cannot accept that God has a minister who is powerless against sickness and diseases. There are churches today that not only the congregation but even their Pastors die of sickness. When Jesus Christ preached, the power of God to heal was always present (Luk 5:17). The Apostles also did it. Other Ministers are also doing it, why don't the rest of the Christ believers?

I don't care much about whatever theology there are, but I am bent on working out to seeing what the Bible says about the power of God. Not because I seek a sign, but because that is what the Word says. And that is what God is all about. God is not about talk, He is about power. And those words are not merely words, they are life! And life is not just an idea, it is very real.

A common attitude of the ordinary Christian is to go to the doctor whenever he or she is not feeling well. Hardly putting up a resistance. But how can we set Satan to flee when we hardly put up resistance? Or are we confused in our theology whether the sickness comes from God or not?

Why Faith?

Why faith? What is there that we need to know about faith? Why is it that without faith it is impossible to please God? Why did the Lord say, according to your faith be it done unto you? And a lot of times did He say, rise and go your way, your faith has made you well. What is faith? One thing is settled in my heart. It’s not really something so out of this world or something so mind blowing. The Bible does not refer to a special thing or meaning when it talks about faith, or some great mystery hidden behind it. It is as plain and simple as described in the common dictionary. Faith is but the strong belief or conviction in one’s heart. What ever you believe in, that is where your faith is. So when God talks about faith, He means a strong conviction in one’s heart, not doubting, but a firm unwavering conviction that His Word is a settled truth, not subject to debate or argument or whatever. It is settled. Walking by faith and not by sight simply means that we don’t change what we be

The Genealogy and the Gospel of Christ

That I have been introduced to two individuals now who strongly subscribe to John Calvin’s doctrines has got me thinking seriously about this subject. And so for more than a couple of months now, my reading of the Scriptures has been greatly influenced and directed towards the subject of election and predestination and God’s exercise of His absolutely sovereign  will. The book of genealogies never appealed to me and I never really got any significance from it. But today as I read through those genealogies again, something hit me really strongly. The book of genealogies actually is evidence of the move of the mighty hand of God to preserve a people for Himself. In Genesis chapter 5, at verse 4 it says: “The days of Adam after he fathered Seth were 800 years; and he had other sons and daughters.” I asked myself: What about the other sons and daughters were they not significant to God? The answer came rather quickly. They were all significant, but Seth was more significant because alon

Working Out Salvation

Php 2:12-15 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (13) For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure. (14) Do all things without murmurings and disputings: (15) That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;  Just to remove the misconstruction here, ‘work out’ is not synonymous with ‘work for’. The former means to develop while the latter means to earn. Salvation is not earned. It is freely given of God. He made it that way so that no one can boast. But salvation needs to be developed so that we may reap its fruits. Christians struggle with their faith because after that they have received the Lord Jesus they still face the same problems, the same struggles, the same circumstances even long after that they became
