A dynamic equilibrium exists when a reversible reaction ceases to change its ratio of reactants/products, but substances move between the chemicals at an equal rate, meaning there is no net change. It is a particular example of a system in a steady state. In thermodynamics a closed system is in thermodynamic equilibrium when reactions occur at such rates that the composition of the mixture does not change with time. Reactions do in fact occur, sometimes vigorously, but to such an extent that changes in composition cannot be observed. Equilibrium constants can be expressed in terms of the rate constants for elementary reactions. - Wikipedia
I just remembered this concept about dynamic equilibrium which we studied in science class in high school. And it occurred to me that Christians are like that. Or we ought to be like that. We can maintain our steady state despite the many reactions that happen in this world. This world can really get crazy sometimes, but that doesn't change us. We get affected by the turmoil that happens around us but the truth is it doesn't change the fact that we are blessed.
We have an heritage with God and nothing on this world is going to change that. Circumstances may not show it, but we are always in a steady state with God, our blessings are always in a steady state in Christ. There is no lack, there is no shortage. There is no net change. :-) With this in mind, I believe we can go through life as if nothing happens. We can just enjoy it, and live it giving glory to God.
