(1Co 2:3-5) There is so much theology going around in these last days. Maybe you can find thousands or maybe hundreds of thousands of different, sometimes clashing schools of thought even within the Christian faith. But the truth is not in any of them. Most people believe that because they have a Ph.D in theology, they already know the truth, and they have assumed office as authorities in the faith toward God. The believer in Christ must be well able to discern which one is of God and which one is not. If you are confident in your faith because it is backed up by volumes and volumes of technical writings, then that faith is not founded on Christ.
