Did God bless us so that we can be a blessing to others? Just that? Did God bless us so that we can call our brother or sister and say, "Hey come, let's share and enjoy this blessing?" For most Christians, that's all their relationship with God is about, the blessings.
We need to learn to take our eyes off from the blessings. We need to see far beyond it! The blessing that God gave us is meant for a purpose. And we should be able to see what that purpose is so that we can appropriate the blessing to that purpose. And that's the reason why people feel empty after that the blessing is ran out because it was misappropriated. As if nothing happened. Because indeed, material blessings are simply consumed.
God calls us to offer up ourselves as living sacrifices; to continue His work. Christians ought to grasp the Apostle's Doctrine that to live is Christ and to die is gain. It is when we die that we gain. And while we still live we ought to work. It is no longer us who lives but it is Christ who lives in us. We ought to be doing the work of Christ. God would rather take you home than let you stay and enjoy and spoil in this world. An overstatement maybe, but it is not uncommon that some Christians just pass away so suddenly. Let it be every Christian's desire that when his day comes, he shall declare, "I have finished my course.."
