Foolish, faithless, heartless, ruthless.

For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who by their unrighteousness suppress the truth. For what can be known about God is plain to them, because God has shown it to them. For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse. For although they knew God, they did not honor him as God or give thanks to him, but they became futile in their thinking, and their foolish hearts were darkened. Claiming to be wise, they became fools, and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for images resembling mortal man and birds and animals and creeping things. Therefore God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator, who

Breaking the Strongholds - Joshua 1:8

(Jos 1:8) This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success. ESV It may occur to some that I may be preaching so hard against materialism. But we need to digest this thing so that it gets deep into our spirit, it gets into our sub-conscious and become our natural way of thought. Joshua 1:8 is a very popular verse and I believe it is nowadays being misused. It is really a "come on" for new believers. It is a very attractive verse because of the promise of prosperity and success. And indeed it has been used by many Churches to attract people to God. And so this very same verse can be used by Satan to deceive many. The Scripture is all pure and all true. But Satan can use this verse so that you become focused on the prosperity part and the success part. The true focus of this

Prophet or Profit?

I came across one guy who claims he has the gift of prophecy. And he particularly prophesies about, of all things... the stock market. That's not the sad news. The sad news is that some Christians actually buy it! Still some other "Prophets" prophesy about some crisis that is going to happen and so he advices Christians all over the world to store up goods, supplies, canned goods, etc, to survive the inevitable crisis. Talk about Christian Materialism. Even non-believers would not buy such kind of stuff. And all that because of the lack of instruction. We don't have discernment because we are ignorant of the things of God. We profess that we are not of the world but we never really got out of it, did we? There are many "ministers" out there who have made preaching as a means of living. Most of them are quite entertaining even. If we are not careful we can end up listening to one and get diverted from truth. You can get stuck in your growth in the Word, and y

It's Irreversible

(Gen 2:19) And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. KJV Notice how God just let Adam have his way to be creative and give names to all that He has formed from the ground. Man indeed is delegated with power and authority. In this example passage, it is the power to create names. And whatsoever the name given, that was the name thereof. This is an example of God’s delegation of autonomous authority. He delegated that authority to man and He is not ready to supplant man’s decisions with His own. He delegated that authority and He respects that authority, He gives autonomy to that authority. Whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof. It was final and binding. And so God has given Adam the free hand to name every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air

It's all about character..

Christianity is all about character. Some become Christian because they know that if they just stick with God, there will be blessings. True. But Christianity is not about that. Christianity is about character. I know a Christian who lost her job and nearly lost her mind too! That's what happens when your Christianity is attached to the blessings. Christianity is not about the good life either. That's part of it but that's not what Christianity is about. For everyone shall be salted with fire. And God will let lose the Tempter to test everyone that is on the earth. We know that man was created in the likeness of God. And that means 100% like God. Not just 50%, say our face looks like Him but our character is of someone else. I believe that God made man to be really like Him. That we be all that God is. That's why He says, do not worry. Because God's resources are infinite! There are more important things that we must give attention to than our bod

A Word for ROL

There are many subjects to choose from when we study the Word of God. But lately ROL is receiving a lot about the Spirit, about who we are in the spirit, about what we have in the spirit. My last two preaching’s were all about the Spirit. Even the anniversary theme is Spirit, Soul and Body! So the question pops up: Do the people get tired of it? And the teachers, do they get tired of it? The answer of course is NO, we should not get tired of it. In fact, it is the most important thing that we should understand. The primary reason for that is… God is spirit. And a secondary reason is that we too are spirit beings encased in a physical body. And more importantly, the Word of God is spirit and they are life. I believe that the renewing of the mind that the Bible talks about is just simply shifting our focus from the physical to the spiritual. In the beginning man was conscious about God. Adam was conscious about God. Adam knew it when God was in the garden. But the more tha

Dynamic Equilibrium

A dynamic equilibrium exists when a reversible reaction ceases to change its ratio of reactants/products, but substances move between the chemicals at an equal rate, meaning there is no net change. It is a particular example of a system in a steady state . In thermodynamics a closed system is in thermodynamic equilibrium when reactions occur at such rates that the composition of the mixture does not change with time. Reactions do in fact occur, sometimes vigorously, but to such an extent that changes in composition cannot be observed. Equilibrium constants can be expressed in terms of the rate constants for elementary reactions. - Wikipedia I just remembered this concept about dynamic equilibrium which we studied in science class in high school. And it occurred to me that Christians are like that. Or we ought to be like that. We can maintain our steady state despite the many reactions that happen in this world. This world can really get crazy sometimes, but that doesn't
